The Horners Livery Company is proud to have been associated with the BPF and, hence, the plastics industry, for over 80 years. Since the 13th Century our ancient Livery Company worked on the moulding and shaping of horn, a natural plastic. In the 1943 the Company embraced the Plastics Industry.
Being a “Horner” means giving something back to society, supporting charities that help the less advantaged and promoting the plastics industry through educational projects and design competitions that encourage students of all ages to take STEM subjects and acknowledging process and product innovations through our prestigious BPF Horners Awards. We also shine a spotlight on the valuable contribution apprentices make to our industry through the annual Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award.
The Horners promote good fellowship for members and guests through an active social programme and members can participate in the civic life of the City of London. To become a member of the Horners Company, you can be introduced by friends or colleagues who are already Liverymen, by the military affiliated unit, or as a prize winner of one of the Company's awards. Alternatively, you can simply contact us through the Company website or the Company Clerk at clerk@horners.org.uk.
