Rapid and Reliable
We offer a rapid, reliable response to resolving issues with your existing toolmaking. This includes options for on-site service, and preferential maintenance on a contract basis, to ensure your production needs are covered with minimal interruption.
Servicing Overseas Tooling
We are the preferred UK toolmaking partner for many of our UK customers who have invested in overseas toolmaking that requires additional work to launch it into production, or to maintain it and quickly resolve issues when in full production. For example, a UK customer who sources new tooling from a major Dutch toolmaker, uses us exclusively for modifications and repairs, and the Dutch toolmaker has full confidence that we adhere to their stringent standards.
Measurement and Inspection Reports
Our customers highly value this ‘before and after’ service we offer. For example, if only one cavity is not performing, our measuring techniques can pinpoint the inaccuracy - including features such as clip features, undercuts and sealing edges - so we can make tool adjustment recommendations to bring that cavity back up to specification. We have state-of-the-art measurement probe technology on our machines. Pictured below is our leading edge Mitutoyo Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). It incorporates latest advancements in measuring technology for absolute accuracy, responding to increased demand for ever tighter tolerances in toolmaking. We have the technology to work to sub-micron accuracy.
Modifications and Repairs
Faulkner Moulds then uses its suite of sophisticated machinery to modify the tool accurately, including CNC spark and wire erosion and a high-speed vertical 5-axis graphite and hard metal machining centre, which enables automation of cavity machining, achieving a repeatable accuracy of 2 microns. We recently installed trail blazing toolroom technology with our innovative robotic production cell which is, we believe, a ‘world first’. The production cell particularly supports multi-cavity, high-production tooling.
After correcting the tool, Faulkner Moulds provides a detailed report of results for the customer, which compares measurements before and after the work, to confirm the integrity of the modification work.
