Safety aspects of recycled HDPE in contact-sensitive applications: An analysis

Recycled HDPE is one of the most commonly used PCR materials for extrusion blow-molded (EBM) bottles. Recognizing that recycled HDPE may contain contaminants and pose potential risks in contact-sensitive applications, we investigated multiple scenarios with varying levels of PCR content and virgin resin to both quantify and qualify the presence of contaminants.
