USEON’s EPS-to-EPS recycling technology is designed to support circular foam manufacturing by converting post-consumer EPS waste back into expandable EPS raw materials for new foam products.
The process feeds compressed and crushed EPS waste into a twin-screw extrusion system, where a foaming agent is reintroduced during processing. After cooling and underwater pelletizing, the recycled pellets can be reused similarly to virgin EPS materials.
Compared with conventional virgin raw materials, the process helps reduce fossil resource consumption and supports lower carbon emissions. USEON’s XEPS solution incorporates up to 40% recycled GPPS, contributing to an estimated 30–40% reduction in raw material carbon footprint.
The technology supports more sustainable applications in insulation, packaging, and building materials, while helping advance closed-loop EPS recycling.
